2011 Triathlon-ITU World Championship Grand Final held in Beijing Ming Tombs Reservoir from Sept. 9th to Sept. 11. This event was authorized by ITU, hosted by State Physical Culture Administration and Beijing Municipal People's Government and undertaken by State Physical Culture Administration fencing and cycling center, Beijing Municipal Physical Culture Bureau and Beijing Changping Municipal People's Government. Triathlon-ITU World Championship Grand Final, which held once a year, is the highest level and largest scale event of triathlon (A-level). The events set up professional group: elite, U23 and junior sprint; amateur group: age group, junior sprint paratriathlon and so on. This event attracted 5000 athletes, coaches and officers from all over the world to attend.
